Emergency lighting tested, repaired and installed to BS 5266

When the power fails, emergency lighting has to come on and stay on long enough for everyone to leave the building. BS 5266 requires a monthly function test and an annual full-duration test, with the results recorded in a logbook that your fire risk assessor will check.

Our NICEIC approved engineers carry out the tests, replace failed fittings, batteries and inverters, and design and install new systems. We work with Thorn, Mackwell, Zumtobel, Ansell, Eaton, Ventilux, Kosnic and Emergi-Lite products, including self-test and addressable systems that cut testing time on larger sites.

What an emergency lighting service covers

Monthly function tests, in person or via self-test systems

Annual three-hour duration tests

Battery, lamp and fitting replacement

Exit signage and escape route coverage checks

Logbook and certificate for your fire file

Design and installation of new and replacement systems

Combined with your other compliance tests

Emergency lighting is usually tested on the same visit as fire alarm servicing or fixed wire testing, which saves a visit and keeps the records together. Every test is logged in Simpro and the certificates are sent to your compliance folder on completion.

We maintain emergency lighting in schools, offices, courts and public buildings across London, the South East, East Anglia and the Midlands.
